Far Out Retreat is a small boutique adults-only holiday destination in St Lawrence, Isle of Wight, boasting stunning sea views over Binnel Bay. The site is south-facing and nestled between the cliffs and the sea, in Undercliff Drive, a no through road.
Once a static caravan park, we have extensively replanned and upgraded the site to make it more 'boutique'. Most of the caravans have gone, leaving just 2, to open up the sea views. We've added wildflowers and made it a more exclusive site.
Just 2 original caravans remain and there are also 2 modern well insulated shepherds huts and the main house. The caravans are named after crystals and semi-precious stones and decorated in the colours of their namesake. Across the site, expect stunning sunrises, sunsets and views of woodlands or boats out to sea.
LOCATION
A peaceful setting only a 10-minute walk from Binnel Bay and 25 minutes from Woody Bay. Ventnor's shops, restaurants and attractions are within a 10 minute drive. Binnel Bay is a quiet, rocky bay which has good access to the Isle of Wight’s many coastal walking trails. Woody Bay has large pebbles and high cliffs, accessible down a small trail from the Isle of Wight Coastal Path. There are tremendous country walks around.

There are 2 caravans to choose from, each with their own garden space.
Citrine [WEB LINK]
Citrine has yellow summer vibes and is located in a premium position with a double plot, on the edge of the cliff, with spectacular sea views and driftwood trim. A luxury outside decking and fire-pit surrounded by attractive flowers. The garden is ideal for BBQ's or sunbathing. You can watch the waves crashing and admire the open skies and views over the English Channel. The decking and love seat are for your exclusive use, along with the deckchairs. It's a beautiful plot, looking over the woodland and Binnel bay, with the cliff behind you.
Citrine has an open plan lounge kitchen, with gas cooker and fire. Small comfortable double bed and a simple retro shower room. Stunning views over the bay, in an elevated end plot with private garden. There is WiFi at the top of the park, but we encourage a digital detox. There were 12 caravans on site, but the tier on the tier below the caravans have been demolished to open up the views, add some wildflowers and make it a more exclusive site. Just 2 original caravans remain and there are also 2 modern well insulated shepherds huts on site now, which are available all year as they are fully insulated and sleep 2
This caravan has the best plot and is not suitable for people who maybe afraid of heights as it boasts an elevated position with stunning views. It can be exhilarating in a storm!....you are in natural and there is just 1 other caravan next to you and 1 shepherds huts below. Each area has its own exclusive use.
NOTE
The road is closed one end, so the caravan park is only accessible via Niton. The Ventnor end is accessed on foot, or bike. It's ideal for a quiet escape away from the masses. Ideal for cyclists, or electric bikes can be arranged with advanced notice. Bookings of large groups can only be made by prior arrangement, as it's important that no partying takes place, to respect the neighbours. There are other more suitable locations if you are looking to party.
There is a large free carpark and access to a dedicated laundry room with high end washer dryers.
