Planet Aware IoW

Last updated:

Planet Aware, the Isle of Wight's Coastal volunteers, is a community group dedicated to reducing marine plastic, pollution and raising awareness about how our lives impact the ocean.

Being by the sea has a measurably positive impact on mental health. So, come and join us on one of the Island's beautiful beaches to clean up rubbish or help survey!

We often come to the Ventnor area, particularly Binnel Bay and Watershoot Bay as they seems to catch a lot of rubbish that's either washed on the beach by the sea, or left by people!

Volunteer
Getting outside and active is a great way to maintain good mental and physical health. Volunteering as a beach cleaner in our organised group litter picks is a great way to connect with other people, do something positive and get some exercise and fresh air.

Children Welcome
It's family friendly and great for kids 8 years and older.

How to Join Us
We organise regular beach cleans around the Isle of Wight at a variety of different locations. Visit our website for more information, or follow us on social media.

What to Wear
You will be provided with a hi-viz waistcoat. Please wear weather-appriopriate clothing study footwear as you will be encountering uneven ground and pebbles.
