Ventnor Inner Wheel club is a women’s friendship and community service organisation on the Isle of Wight.

An International Inner Wheel club is traditionally linked with Rotary International, though today membership is open to women from all backgrounds, whether they have a Rotary connection or not.

Ventnor is part of International Inner Wheel District 11, one of the regional districts within the Association of Inner Wheel Clubs in Great Britain & Ireland.

District 11
District 11 was chartered in 1945, making it one of the long-established districts in the organisation, and covers central southern England and the Channel Islands, including Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, south east Dorset and Guernsey. It currently consists of 14 clubs, including Ventnor.

History
The movement began in Manchester in 1924, founded by Margarette Golding, a nurse and businesswoman. It originally brought together the wives of Rotarians who wanted not only friendship and social connection, but also a way to serve their communities in their own right.
Today, Inner Wheel is one of the largest women’s voluntary service organisations in the world, with clubs in over 100 countries. Each local club is independent in the projects it supports, but all share three core aims:
- To promote true friendship
- To encourage personal service
- To foster international understanding

Meetings
Ventnor Inner Wheel club usually meets monthly, but please email Inner Wheel admin for details.
