PHOTOGRAPHY AND ART
WYTCH is an ongoing (and ever evolving) project by Syd Buron, based in Ventnor on the Isle of Wight.

Over the years, and with varying degrees of success, I have followed a meandering path with a passion for visual art (photography in particular), attempting to fan the faint embers of magic that still smoulder in ancient woodlands, hollow ways, copses, oak trees, bookshops, art galleries and auction houses.

For the last few years, I have been concentrating on painting liquid emulsion onto antique mirrors, and projecting a negative (of one of my photographs) onto the coated surface, and developing the whole mirror in the darkroom. Thus, effectively turning the mirror into a photograph. My 2024 exhibition, held at Dimbola Museum and Galleries in Freshwater Bay, was called ‘Light Bends in Imaginary Gardens’ and featured the aforementioned mirrors.

ONLINE SHOP
A hoarder and creator of visionary and intuitive visual art, I now live in the wonderfully weird town of Ventnor on the Isle of Wight with my partner Molly, and we would like to share our hoard with you. The shop is regularly added to, as is the new ‘Art Gallery’ section. I am currently working on putting a group show together; for artists sharing a kinship with an aesthetic that I gravitate toward - one that I’m calling ‘Acid Folk Art’. I am now gathering work, connecting with other artists, and creating new work of my own.
