Parkinson’s Table Tennis and Social Group – the third Wednesday of every month 2pm till 4pm, at Stenbury Hall in Wroxall, Isle of Wight.
Table tennis is one of many ways way to help manage my Parkinson’s symptoms. It improves hand-eye coordination, and stimulates mental alertness and concentration, which are all impacted by Parkinson’s.
As table tennis is quite a fast game, there is little time to think. You can only react as the small ball flies at you in a blur. Decisions have to be made in a split second. This makes is fantastic for hand-eye coordination and the movements from side to side, backwards, and forwards. It is also good for balance.
Don't worry if this sounds a bit serious. It’s actually great fun and the social interaction benefits mental health.
